EMPLOYMENT
SCHOOL BUS INSTRUCTION
Philly Transportation, LLC., is a PA State Certified Commercial driving test site. Our test site is located in Northeast Philadelphia. After successfully completing the training program, you will be tested for your commercial driver’s license by our own State Certified Examiners.
You will then be fully trained on your bus route to guarantee you are familiar with it. You will now be an official school bus driver with your own bus route.
As a school bus driver you will have to maintain your driving and safety skills. Every four years, you receive a refresher course and become re-certified.
CDL TESTING
Our helpful training staff will walk you through the steps of becoming a school bus driver. You will spend 2 days in a classroom learning the skills of a professional driver. Before taking your written test at the DMV, our trainers will ensure that you and they are both confident. We will even administer a pre-test to you.
Once you have received your permits, it is on to the bus. There will be a minimum of two-weeks in-bus training. You will have one-on-one training to ensure you understand all of the button and light functions, basic maneuvers, loading/unloading students, and railroad crossings.
TRANSPORTING
As a school bus driver, you are entrusted with the awesome responsibility of transporting the children placed in your hands safely from home to school and back again. We take measures to ensure our precious cargo are in safe hands. To become a successful school bus driver, you must meet certain criteria.
As a company, it is our responsibility to know that your background is free from criminal activity, and/or drug misuse. Therefore, we will conduct a Criminal Background Check, FBI Fingerprint Check, Child Abuse Clearance Check, Motor Vehicle Record Check, and Pre-Employment Drug Test.
We know dealing with children may be a difficult task, but it’s what we love to do.
